Hybridity in Jhumpa Lahiri's a Temporary Matter

This study aims to reveal hybridity and liminality in Jhumpa Lahiri's short story entitled A Temporary Matter. research is a qualitative with postcolonial approach. The theory used this postcolonialism by Homi K. Bhabha. methods applied include data collection analysis methods. obtained were taken from the speech of characters narrator Bhabha Location Culture (1994) discusses society during post-colonial era diaspora literature. Hybridity related human culture identity. identity are formed dynamically, they experience development, progress, decline according conditions circumstances. Diaspora literature produced writings people living outside country and/or that contain experiences. In process hybridity, there gap between two cultures. called which repression (colonial) past not revealed. One writers included into category Lahiri.
